Add one-of-a-kind Mississippi Originals to your ornaments collection.
The ornaments at JRWebb Pottery are just delightful and you will want to take a look at the artists cozy studio in the southern pine woods. It makes me wish I was a potter or that I could at least stop in for a visit.
Each handcrafted ornament is one-of-a-kind and made from Mississippi clay. How appropriate that there is even a clay Mississippi state ornament glazed in beautiful earth tones. The artist makes available an ornament of any southern state and I bet she could be talked in to designing an ornament for other states as well.
Jonni R. Webb is the distinctive artist who makes all of her ornaments from Mississippi clay. Most of her work is created from slabs and hand-building although she does use the potters wheel as well. Each and every piece is hand-made, signed and dated by the artist. Because of that, no two pieces are exactly alike. You won’t see any mass produced ornaments here. Jonni Webb is the only artist in her studio and that makes her wonderful ornaments even more exceptional.
There are desk ornaments and hanging ornaments made from genuine Mississippi kudzu, “The Vine That Ate The South!” The process involves rolling the leaves into clay, removing them to reveal veins and then adding the glaze to complete the unique ornaments. The kudzu design is earth tone multi color, and finally puts this prolific plant to good use, proof that beauty can be found in everything.
From colorful butterfly ornaments to lovely pink ribbon ornaments sold as part of an ongoing fundraiser for the cure of breast cancer, Jonni has created attractive handmade designs of superior quality. The ornaments at JRWebb Pottery have been purchased at shops, galleries and shows to be shipped as gifts all over the world and there are many retail shops that currently carry ornaments designed by JRWebb Pottery.
